It's been a great day with Cross Country. The weather was superb and there were some fantastic contests for places in the races. Certificates will be given out at next Friday's assembly. Those that didn't get to go home early had some down time with MG.

Using Magisto

Jameson is the resident Magisto movie maker so he is in charge of teaching children how to use this simple movie making programme. Today he worked with Gabriel and they made a movie using photos from last term's school swimming sports.

Last day with Miss Andrews

It was a fun day with Miss Andrews today. Lots of effort went into making 3D shapes and finishing her time with us with lots of sparkles and treats. She will be missed by everyone in Room 1 and we wish her all the best for the rest of her studies.

Science with Miss Andrews

This term we are exploring the water cycle and learning about the states of water. Here are photos of an experiment for evaporation.

ANZAC Day with Miss Andrews

Miss Andrews has created a wonderful display for ANZAC Day commemorations. Each child made a poppy for our class wreath which we took to the school assembly. After Anzac Day, the children wrote letters to a soldier which showed some of what they had learnt about the experiences of an Anzac soldier going to war.

Most Improved Swimmer

It was exciting to be at assembly last week and see Mataatia Tuhakaraina presented with an award from the Bethlehem Lions for most improved swimmer. Mataatia was a joy to teach swimming. He was focussed and put lots of effort to learning and improving his swimming strokes, particularly freestyle. He moved from floating to having a smooth arm rotation and really good attempts at adding breathing. Awesome Mataatia.

Last day of Term 1

On the last day of Term 1 Room 1 and Room 6 made pizzas and garlic bread using lots of produce from the summer garden including the enormous red onions and garlic. The tasty kai was demolished before the teachers could take photos, however here is a short video of our efforts. It was a lovely way to end the term.

Adventure Day

Here is our first magisto movie made by some of the students. The movies are very short, however it allows the children to select a few photos from the day and put together a movie. Each pupil using magisto then teaches a classmate so that we can all make our own movies. Look out for more movies shortly.
